No mystery tires.

Used tires are measured, photographed, and graded A, B, or C against a published standard, with every flaw on the listing. New tires carry the New mark instead. Reserve free, then pay the shop that mounts them.

  • Tread read in three grooves
  • Age read off the DOT date, with a hard ceiling
  • Every repair and flaw printed on the listing

What the letter actually means.

One published bar, in 32nds of an inch. Where a tire lands on it decides the letter, and whatever the inspection turned up is printed on the listing.

A
8/32" and up · never repaired · under 6 years

Deep tread, even wear, and no patch or plug in its history. Most of the tire's life is still ahead of it, and we keep this bar high enough that most used tires miss it.

B
6/32" and up · never repaired

Plenty of usable tread and a clean structure, with nothing disclosed against it. The honest middle, and where most of the value sits.

C
4/32" and up · one disclosed reason

Road-ready, with the single reason it is not an A or a B spelled out on the listing: a proper repair, an older date code, or an uneven wear pattern.

Below the Grade C floor a tire is either rejected as unsafe or left ungraded. Neither is ever listed on RealTreads. Read the full Standard

From your size to mounted.

Pickup and fitting both happen at the shop that graded the tire. We take no payment online, and nothing is shipped to you.

  1. Find your size

Search by tire size, or by year, make, and model and we will match the factory fitment.

  2. Read the report

A used listing carries its grade, the measured tread, the age off the DOT code, photos, and any disclosures. A new one says plainly that none of that was measured, because nothing was.

  3. Reserve free

A 48-hour hold takes the tire off the market while you arrange a visit. Reserving costs nothing, and you can let the hold lapse.

  4. Pay the shop, get them mounted

Look the tires over in person, pay the shop directly at the listed price, and have them fitted on site.

See how grading sends you buyers

We grade your tires. Buyers come to you.

  • 1Grade in minutes, from your phone. Tread, DOT, a 10-point check, photos. It grades A, B, or C on the spot, in the bay.
  • 2We list it with the full report. One tap builds a listing buyers trust, plus ready-to-paste Facebook text.
  • 3You pay for leads, nothing else. Grading and listing stay free, and we take no share of what the tire sells for.
